Mr Neil Scott

Head, Neck & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Mr Scott is a Consultant Maxillofacial / Head & Neck surgeon in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. Neil is also Clinical Director of Cancer Services Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

 

Mr Scott qualified from dental school in 2003 with distinction and medical school in 2009 with honors and moved to South Wales in 2013 to complete higher training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, obtaining FRCS(OMFS) in 2018. He was appointed as Consultant Maxillofacial / Head & Neck surgeon in August 2018 at University Hospital Wales, Cardiff but relocated to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board in March 2021 to set up free tissue transfer service.

Mr Scott's NHS practice is ablative and reconstructive surgery for oral cancer, oropharyngeal cancer, metastatic skin cancer

and surgical dermatology in the head and neck. He is also Head Office Medical Advisor / Chief Medical Officer for the British Boxing Board of Control. This  a role which has included being Chief Medical Officer at all the Riyadh Season Boxing events and 10 World Heavyweight title contests. Mr Scott was 1st author on the journal article entitled Elite and Professional sports facial injuries management - a consensus report. Br J Oral Maxillofac Surg. 2020  As a result of his experience he is frequently asked for expert opinion on facial hard and soft tissue sporting injuries and is happy to be contacted with regards to this.

Outside of work Mr Scott is a busy dad and enjoys cycling out in the beautiful Welsh countryside.
